It’s Tuesday Shoesday & BLACK LIVES MATTER Everyday!

Since is #Shoesday, I’m sharing that I’m torn about my favorite #ManoloBlahnik shoes. I’ve been keeping up with my favorite designer brands to see where they stand on civil rights & the inequality, injustice & oppression of Black people in America and Manolo Blahnik really let me down. They posted a black box on #blackouttuesday but with NO statement on the issue.

How very disappointing. How can I support a brand that does not support me? Although I did actually purchase these from black & minority owned consignment shops. If I do keep them I will NOT be tagging or promoting them. But they are my favs.

There’s so many wonderful black owned shoe brands with GORGEOUS shoes anyway... like Aminah Abdul Jillil and Brother Veillies
The next pair of expensive shoes I purchase will be from a brand that is black owned and/or anti-racist.
Manolo Blahnik isn’t either.

By the way, the Heritage Pride Tee & BLACK GIRL MAGIC earrings are available NOW in the District Gems Boutique
And... how do you feel about your Manolo Blahnik’s now? Are you keeping up on who is supporting the movement or do you even care?

UPDATE: We did notice that Manolo Blahnik supports the Mental Health Foundation and its efforts to Tackle Social Inequalities to Reduce Mental Health Problems. This definitely eases my mind and I don't feel bad to sport my Manolos. Also, there has been diversity in skin color advertised on his instagram page and we know that representation truly matters.
